Cottbus award short for "Christmas gift"

On Saturday, November 10, the Cottbus International Film Festival Gala, "Christmas Gift" directed by Bogdan Mureşanu, received the Grand Prix of the Short Film Competition. The action of the film takes place on the evening of December 20, 1989, when a letter to Marius's "Big Girl" turns the parents' night into a nightmare.
The jury of the prestigious festival considered that the short film "allows the spectator to go through a very dramatic construction with sensible humor and become the witness of an effective rhythm storyline in which the innocent desire of a small child sinks a simple family into a great conflict, marked by an atmosphere of fear in a totalitarian system, "reads a statement released by Cinemagia.
This is the third prize that Bogdan Mureşanu receives for this film, after the Grand Prize at the Izmir Festival and the Jury Prize at the Montpellier Festival, in the section dedicated to short films.
"Christmas Gift" has been selected at many other international festivals. The next destination of the film is the Bilbao Festival.
At the latest edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF 2018), the film won the "Romanian Film Days Award for the short film section".
"Christmas Gift" was produced by film company KINOTOPIA in 2018. The distribution includes Adrian Văncică, Ioana Flora and child Luca Toma.
